PRIVACY POLICY - THE BASICS

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) sets out how Infocast Limited (“We/Infocast”) uses and protects any personal information that you (“You/User”) give to Infocast when you use this system/service (“Platform”).

 

Infocast is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain data and/or information by which you can be personally identified when using this Platform, we assure you that it will only be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

 

Infocast may change this Privacy Policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This Privacy Policy is effective from the 25th day of May, 2018 onwards.

This Privacy Policy has been translated into Chinese. If there is any inconsistency or ambiguity between the English version and the Chinese version, the English version shall prevail.

 What We Collect 

We may collect any of the following personal information:

  • Personal information such as name and salutation;

  • Contact information such as email address and phone number;

  • Employment information such as company and title;

  • Demographic information such as address, preferences and interests; or

  • Other information relevant to customer surveys and/or promotions.

 

Together referred to as Personal Information (“Personal Information”).

 How We Collect Personal Information 

We collect Personal Information in one of seven ways:

  • Receiving information from you via usage of our products or services;

  • Receiving information from you via electronic channels, such as online form applications;

  • Receiving information from you via physical channels, such as from business cards provided to our staff;

  • Receiving information from you via social channels, such as interactions with our staff, social media platforms and advertisements;

  • Receiving information from you via our partners, whom have legally obtained such information from you and are permitted to provide such information to us;

  • Receiving information from you via publicly available records, such as from the Hong Kong Trade Development Council or Securities and Futures Commission; or

  • Receiving information from you via usage of cookies.

 What We Do With The Personal Information We Gather 

We require this Personal Information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for any of the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping;

  • Improving our products and services;

  • Periodically sending promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided; or

  • Periodically contacting you for market research purposes.

 

We may contact you by email, phone, fax or mail. We may use the Personal Information to customize the Platform according to your interests.

SECURITY PLEDGE

We are committed to ensuring that your Personal Information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. As soon as we become aware of a data breach that affects your Personal Information, we shall notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong or any other relevant regulator within 72 hours.

 

If you are aware of any privacy breach, or have reasonable grounds to strongly suspect the same, please contact us directly.

HOW WE USE COOKIES

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyze traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular page or function. Cookies allow applications to respond to you as an individual. The application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

 

​We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages and functions are being used. This helps us analyze data about traffic and improve our Platform in order to tailor it to your needs. We only use this Personal Information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system. The Platform may contain links to other websites or applications of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave the Platform, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website or application. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such websites and applications, and they are not governed by this Privacy Policy. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy policy/statement applicable to the website or application in question.

CONTROLLING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your Personal Information in any of the following ways:

  • Whenever you are asked to fill in a form on the platform, look for the box that you can click to indicate that you do not want the Personal Information to be used by anybody for direct marketing purposes; or

  • If you have previously agreed to us using your Personal Information for direct marketing purposes, you may change your mind at any time by contacting us directly at marketing@infocast.com.hk.

 

​We will not sell, distribute or lease your Personal Information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We may use your Personal Information to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting if you tell us that you wish this to happen.

 

​You may request details of Personal Information which we hold about you under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance Cap. 486 (“PDPO”) of the Laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China. If you would like a copy of the Personal Information held on you, please contact us directly.

 

If you believe that any Personal Information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please contact us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any Personal Information found to be incorrect.

 

If you would like to delete any Personal Information we are holding on you, please contact us as soon as possible. We will promptly delete the Personal Information as requested.
